For the best portrait, choose clear, well-lit photographs that show your pet's face, eyes, coloring, and markings. Natural light is especially helpful. Don't worry if you're unsure which image is best — upload several favorites and Thery can help choose the strongest reference.

About the artist
Meet Thery
Thery is a self-taught oil painter who has loved making art for as long as she can remember. One of her earliest memories is holding an "art gallery" in her aunt's dining room, selling drawings for a dollar each and giving the money to people experiencing homelessness.
Life took her away from painting for decades while she built a career in healthcare as a Nurse Practitioner. After her daughter was born, she felt drawn back to it. Becoming a mother reminded her how quickly life moves, and how much beauty sits inside ordinary moments that are easy to miss.
When she returned to the easel, she found herself painting animals. Thery believes pets are angels on earth, and their loyalty and unconditional love is what she tries to hold onto in every piece. Her work draws on Impressionism, realism, and traditional fine art — detail and expressive brushwork, light, color, and emotion. She has completed more than a dozen commissioned pet portraits, each one individually painted by hand in oil.
